Graphics aren't the devil

Description

I support Photomanip, Photo manipulation, "graphics" and "GFX".

Even if it uses copyrighted stock, because I don't think bands and anime companies are going to mind you making avatars, signatures and wallpapers of them. They'll probably be happy that they have a big enough fan following to get that attention.

HOWEVER. DeviantART is not the place to post it. Uploading copyrighted content without the creator's permission is against the rules and considered stealing. dA automatically copyrights everything you submit, and you can get banned for violating the copyright rule multiple times, even if you are extensively editing the stock.

I also don't support using a small artist piece of art on your work unless you asked. More than likely they would say yes and be flattered you'd want to use it anyway. I know I would.

Anyway, photoshop is fun. I once ran a website where I made avatars, signatures, wallpapers and weblayouts with anime and the occasional celebrity stock. It taught me the ethics of graphic design and how to code and design websites. Now I work part time as a webdesigner and make decent money making templates without copyrighted stock. But I wouldn't have learned if not for my desire to make fan pieces.

So if you want to manipulate pictures of celebrities, bands and anime, go ahead. Just don't post it on dA. Get a tumblr or live journal. Or better yet, make your own website.

I forget which stamp template I used, I'll post it here when I find it/ remember.

All I see now a days are pictures of stars. I sometimes will tell the artist that what they are doing is wrong, and the often times have the lamest excuses for it.
